United States Flag

The Official Flower & National Floral Emblem of The U.S.A.

In the fall of 1986, President Ronald Reagan and Congress signed legislation that proclaimed the rose the Official Flower and the National Floral Emblem of the USA. This is a fitting title for a flower that has been growing in the country for about 40 million years and is undoubtedly the most recognizable flower in the world. In several opinion polls conducted in the United States, over 85% of the respondents chose the rose as their number one choice of flower.

Roses have so much more to offer than just looking and smelling great. The petals and rose hips are edible! Rose hips are rich in vitamins C, E, and K, pectin, beta-carotene and bio-flavinoids. As an antioxidant, rose hips help to keep us healthy in many ways.
